Evaluation process

Cleantech Challenge will consist of two rounds.

Round 1: The preliminary round
In the preliminary round, the teams are required to submit the executive summaries through e-mail in PDF format. These summaries will be judged by our judging panel. The executive summary should discuss the business idea, the target market and the feasibility of the plan. The summary should not exceed 500 words. 10 teams will be shortlisted from the submitted entries.

Mentorship
The mentorship period will be of 30 days. This phase will help participants enrich their idea and give a sound backbone to their b-plans. This training will be provided by professors of the institute, venture capitalists and distinguished personalities from the business institutions and corporate world.

Round 2: The final presentation The second round will comprise of the final presentation of the cleantech b-plan by the participants during GES to be held in January 2010. They will be given a time of 15 minutes to present their b-plan which will be followed by a 10 minute question-answer session with the judges. The winners will receive Harsh Sidhu Memorial Cleantech Award along with cash prizes.

JUDGES

Prof. Ikhlaq Sidhu
Professor Ikhlaq Sidhu is an experienced educator, scholar, high technology executive, and innovator. He is currently the Director, Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (CET) and Professor of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research (IOER) at UC Berkley. He received the 2009 IEOR Chair's Emerging Area Professor Award for playing a prominent role in developing a research and teaching presence in an area of emerging importance to the profession -- Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
