Evaluation process
Preliminary Round :
- For the 1st preliminary round, each team has to submit a technical summary of the innovation highlighting the central features and the technical underpinnings of the product. The technical summary should comprise the attributes of the product which make it a unique and novel necessity.
- The summary should be submitted as an essay and should not exceed 700 words. The above must be submitted as a document in PDF format and sent via email.
- Based on these summaries, a shortlist of teams shall be drawn up who shall subsequently qualify for the final round.
After the preliminary round, the shortlisted teams have to submit a treatise of their product covering the following details of their product:
- The motivation behind the innovation, and what it does.
- Prior art must be clearly stated. Entries without prior art will not be evaluated.
- A summary of its working and technical aspects preferably illustrated with diagrams.
- Superiority of the product in comparison to its rivals existing in the market in terms of cost effectiveness, ergonomics, user-friendliness, etc.
- The details of the hardware and software required by you for the presentation of your project, if chosen for the final round.
A mentor will be assigned to each qualifying team to help them to develop the treatise and their presentation.
Final Round:
Based on the write up and the evaluation, the selected teams would be invited to make a presentation of their product in front of the judges at GES 2010. If your team is among the chosen finalists, you will need to give a 15 minute presentation explaining the innovation and answer the questions raised by the panel as well as the audience.Participants from each of the teams will have to present the working model of their product during E-Summit. The presentation will include the technical aspect of the product. The participants will also be required to submit a hard bound copy with the brief description of working and technology/innovation used in their product.
A patent search shall be conducted for the shortlisted entries and teams suspected of plagiarism shall be disqualified.
