What is Envision?
Ans: It is a product design competition aimed at encouraging feasible innovations which can better the quality of living. The product can be a completely new product in itself or a revamp of an existing one, provided the idea incorporating the innovation is original. Feasible innovations can get upto 30 lacs worth of funding and mentorship.Â

How can I apply for Envision?
Ans: You can register your team at www.ecell.iitkgp.ernet.in/envision/register.php. The first two rounds will be held online. The final (3rd) round shall involve a presentation of the product infront of the judges.

How can Envision help me?
Ans: Envision is providing a platform to those who are interested in making something of their own. Here one can showcase his/her skills at product development. Entrepreneurship Cell shall subsequently aid you in patenting and commercialising your product.

What about the intellectual security of my product?
Ans: Under no circumstances the product would be dislosed to the public until it has been patented. Only the judges would be knowing about your product.

Who can participate in envision?
Ans: This competition is open only to graduates, undergraduates and postgraduates who are Indian citizens residing in India or abroad.

What should be the budget for my product?
Ans: There is no constraint in terms of money or the dimensions of the product.We encourage a product even like a small paperpin or a huge windmill if it is of use to the society.

Is it absolutely necessary to bring a working model?
Ans: A working model is always encouraged as it shall assist you in convincing the judges of its manufacturing feasibilty. If the product is too bulky, we would encourage you to bring a prototype or a simulation of the product, highlighting all necessary details.
