Q.1. Who can participate?
Ans. This competition is open for all students and professionals around the world. The participation can be done individually or teams (at most 4 members).

Q.2. How to participate?
Ans.
In the first round candidates have to submit an online technical summary of their design describing briefly the technical undertakings of the product. The initial round will then commence and those who qualify may then proceed to the next round.

Q.3. What kind of product should be made?
Ans.
 For the entries to be considered eligible for evaluation they must satisfy the following conditions:

  • The product must be innovative
  • The product must be marketable
  • The product must be the teams’ original effort. Plagiarism shall not be tolerated. Any contestant suspected of plagiarism will be debarred from future events
  • The product must demonstrate a positive impact on the society and environment

 Q.4. What are the fields that the product can be related to?

  • Life Sciences & Biotechnology

Q.5. What are the requirements that the product should be able to fulfil?
Ans.
 

  • A brief abstract describing the intent and the motivation behind their product
  • A summary of its working and technical aspects preferably illustrated with clear and precise diagrams
  • Comments on the innovations design aspects and technical, marketing and economic feasibility
  • Technical challenges confronted and how they were overcome
  • A plan containing detailed and exhaustive information regarding the products construction must be submitted
  • Stand out features of the product in comparison to its rivals existing in the market
  • Relevant technical documentation (blueprints and specifications) MUST be submitted. In case of software innovations, full details of the program, such as the algorithms used, third party tools and source code must be submitted.

Q.6. Is the actual product required to be shown?
Ans.
Though it is not mandatory for the teams to present a working model or assembly parts of their products during the final judging, a working model shall help convince the judges about the feasibility of the product. Participants are advised to inform us before hand the requirement of any external software or hardware required for their presentation. Candidates should refrain from submitting an overly abstract or bulky product. 

Q.7. What would we gain out of participating in this competition?
Ans.
All the winners will be awarded certificates of participation, in addition to the cash prizes on the basis of the judges’ final decisions. Successful teams would further get a chance to develop the innovation further and receive mentorship and incubation from organizations such as DST, DSIR, TIETS and Venture Capitalists.
