Guest Lectures

There is no greater inspiration than the words of a true professional. With this in mind, E-Cell organizes various Guest Lectures throughout the year, as part of its larger cause of promoting entrepreneurship within IIT Kharagpur. The lectures aim at providing an insight into the success stories of top-notch entrepreneurs. Students get the opportunity to know about the real world experiences of their role models. Big-shot entrepreneurs and corporate leaders have delivered their inspiring lectures to the students in the past.

Some of the past speakers include:

  • Dr. K. C. Chakrabarty- Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India,and former CMD of PNB BANK
  • Dominique Trempont – On the Board of Directors of three multinational companies {3com,Finisar and Energy Recovery Inc}.Worked with Steve Jobs as the CFO of NeXT
  • Sramana Mitra – US-based Strategy Consultant and Forbes Columnist
  • Mr. Anand Sen -VP Flat Products , Tata Steel
  • Sunil Handa – Serial Entrepreneur and Visiting Faculty at IIM Ahemdabad
  • Sanjeev Bhikchandani – CEO of Naukri.com
  • Arjun Malhotra – Co founder, HCL technologies with Mr. Shiv Nadar. Currently the CEO of Headstrong; a US based IT consulting company.
  • Vinod Dham - Popularly known as the father of the Pentium processor. Presently, he is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Silicon Spice, a communications technology development firm.
  • Rashmi Bansal - The author of bestseller ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’, Rashmi Bansal is a writer, an entrepreneur and a youth expert. In a country where selling 10,000 copies is considered a ‘bestseller’, 100,000 copies of the book have been sold in just 9 months of its release.
  • Mr. Vasant Subramanyan - President, TiE Kolkata and Director and CEO "Last Speak Group".
  • Mr. Rajdeep Sehrawat - Vice President, NASSCOM
  • Prof. Anil K. Gupta - an IIM Ahmedabad faculty, holds the Executive Vice Chairman of National Innovation Foundation set-up by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. He is the founder of Honey Bee Network and to scale up and convert grassroots innovations into viable products respectively. He has also been profiled by India Today as one of the top-50 Change Entrepreneurs in the country. 
  • Mr. Richard Kemp - Co-Director MBA Executive Experience at The Open University. Prior to this, Richard was Director of Executive Development Programmes (EDP) at Henley Management College.
